Guitar Book Reviews
Lana Garcia is a long-time guitar fan and an avid collector of guitar lessons and teaching materials. Last week she added two more to her planned battalion of guitar related hubpages:
“Guitar music books are “themed” collections of music. Music for an occasion or to set a mood. Guitar music to evoke an emotion. Or a collection of music to remind us of an historical period, be it medieval romance or early rock n’ roll. We become interested in a certain kind of music and buy a book. We learn from the book and move on. But the book is always there to refresh our interest, to remind us where we are up to in our musical pursuits.”
Guitar Music Books
“Guitar books are essentially collections of music. They may be anthologies of a particular performer, collections of songs from a certain period of history, the best of a genre, or “fake books”. A “fake book” is a collection of songs which shows just the melody and chords, leaving the performer to give his or her own interpretation. This way you can quickly learn songs to play solo or with friends. A guitar player can easily accumulate a huge library of books of music which he delves into whenever he needs new material.”
