Many new guitarists browse the internet looking at the variety of guitar lessons available as membership sites, DVDs or downloadable courses and wonder if they are worth what seems to be a hefty price.

There are quite a few electric guitar courses available to suit any style you could name. Here’s a free video lesson on jazz guitar:

If you are paying twenty to forty dollars a lesson with a teacher in your city you will have spent a few hundred dollars in a short space of time without having become an accomplished guitar player. For the same amount of money you could have bought a couple of the slickest online guitar courses or at least six months of lessons at Jamplay’s membership site.

What you get is still a bunch of high quality lessons but they are not structured.
