Learn to play Led Zeppelin’s Kashmir

Today’s post is on a piece of seventies exotica called “Kashmir”. Here is the video:

“Kashmir” is a song much loved by Led Zeppelin fans and, indeed, by the members of Led Zeppelin themselves. The song is a mixture of Middle Eastern musical influences and the seventies fluffy pink drug culture. The group had never been to Kashmir when they wrote the song, and its inspiration came to the group’s singer, Robert Plant during a trip through the Sahara desert. An interesting side note is that the band actually brought in musicians from outside the group to play the orchestral parts.
