Learning About Your Amp Settings

Posted on | | No Comments

Part of playing famous guitar riffs is getting your guitar to sound like the original recording. Also you need to become familiar with your guitar and amp to find out what they are capable of.

When you are experimenting with the controls on your amp, start with the knobs set at the top of the dial. This is where you return to in order to start again. The treble control gives you the upper register of your sound. Generally speaking, a note with a lot of treble will have a harsh quality.

The bass control varies the amount of that booming quality. If your amp is small you won’t be getting too much boom, but that’s the basic idea.

The middle range control bring the bass and treble together and endows your sound with the overall quality you may be looking for.

This video tells you more about how to fiddle with the knobs on your amp.
