Paco de Lucia. A flamenco guitar hero

Flamenco guitar player, Paco de Lucia spent a good part of his childhood locked in his room practicing his guitar. He emerged with the a technique that allowed him to play whatever he wanted. Not only that, the blindingly fast picking that you will see featured in the video below inspired many fledgling guitarists all round the world to lock themselves in THEIR rooms. Some emerged with great guitar technique, others decided to give up the guitar altogether. Also seen in today’s video is Paco’s affection for jazz influences and “un-flamenco” instruments like the percussion and bass guitar.
