Scotty Moore – Rockabilly To Rock And Roll

Over the past year or so we have featured guitar legends from the past such as Charlie Christian and Django Reinhardt. Today we feature the original rock and roll lead guitar player, Scotty Moore. Although he is an unassuming stage performer his records with Elvis Presley led aspiring guitarists around the world to try to sound like Scotty Moore. One of the tracks from this era was Mystery Train. We do not have a video clip of Scotty with Elvis but we do have Eric Clapton doing a passable impression of a guitar hero singing, with Scotty Moore playing lead guitar:
